June 9, 2014We just received a few photos of one of Paolo Soleri’s arcology models now on exhibition at the Graham Foundation Madlener House in Chicago.The ARC VILLAGE arcology model, designed by Paolo Soleri as part of the “Arcology – City in the Image of Man” series, is at display at the The model is part of the “Everything Loose Will Land” exhibition. This exhibition explores the cross-pollination that took place between architects and artists in Los Angeles in the 1970’s.This exhibition was first shown at the MAK Center – Schindler House in West Hollywood from May 8. to August 4. 2013 [see report from July 1. 2013].The exhibition then moved to the Yale School of Architecture Gallery in New Haven where it was shown from August 28. to November 9. 2013.Everything Loose Will Land was curated by Sylvia Lavin, Director of Critical Studies in the Department of Architecture and Urban Design at UCLA. It was originally organized by the MAK Center for Art and Architecture, Los Angeles, at the Schindler House, as a part of Pacific Standard Time and traveled to Yale University, School of Architecture Gallery prior to its presentation at the Graham Foundation.Major support was provided by the Getty Foundation, with additional support from Elise Jaffe and Jeffery Brown and the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts (for the Yale and Chicago presentations).
