first_img Pinterest RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Home Sport Rugby Away day blues as Portlaoise suffer first loss of the season SportRugby Facebook Twitter By Steven Miller – 28th October 2018 Wexford Wanderers 18 Portlaoise 8Rugby – Leinster League Division 2AThe Portlaoise rugby team suffered their first loss of their Leinster League Division 2A campaign when they went down 18-8 away to Wexford this afternoon.Following three opening round wins, the loss stalls Portlaoise’s progress.Jack Redding, last week’s match winner against Clondalkin, opened the scoring with a 10th minute penalty but Wexford struck for a 16th minute try and added penalties in the 21st and 34th minute to go in at the break leading by 11-3.Portlaoise upped their game considerably on the restart and were rewarded when Robin Foot touched down after good forward pressure and an effective drive.That reduced the gap to three but the home side made sure of the win with another try and conversion with ten minutes remaining and Portlaoise couldn’t take anything from the game. first_img(tempo.co) Layanan transportasi antara Jakarta – Bogor kini bertambah lagi, yakni Perum Damri dengan menggunakan bus Premiumnya melayani trayek baru keberangkatan Bogor tujuan Jakarta. Direktur Sumber Daya Manusia dan Administrasi Umum Damri, Sardiyo Sardi mengatakan, pada saat uji coba pertama keberangkatan pukul 05.00 hanya mengangkut dua orang, pukul 05.30 mengangkut tiga orang dan pukul 06.00 juga mengangkut tiga orang. “Selanjutnya akan terus beroperasi, namun dalam perjalananya akan dilakukan evaluasi. Jika dalam perjalanan jumlah penumpangnya banyak jadwalnya pun akan ditambah,” ujar Sardiyo yang dikutip KabarPenumpang.com dari tempo.co (31/10/2017).Diketahui, uji coba pada hari pertama pihak Damri mendapat pengawalan kepolisian dengan menggunakan vooridjer dan selanjutnya akan beroperasi tanpa pengawalan. Telstars overcome Mermaids in 37-35 win

first_imgNetball BY SIMON KESLEP A come-back fight by National Aviation Services Telstars paid off with a 37-35 win over Snax Mermaids in the Port Moresby premier netball competition at the Rita Flynn Indoor Courts on Saturday. Both teams proved to be at their top game in the opening quarter forcing defensive errors and maintaining control in their passes. It resulted in a 9-9 first quarter score before Mermaids escaped with a two-point lead (18-16) at halftime. Telstars goal shooters Eva Aua (GS) and Boio Peter (GA) were outstanding and they really kept Mermaids defenders Isabelle Andrew (GK) and Carol Kanapoti (GD) at work defensively. Directing traffic at midcourt for both teams were Kila Leka (Mermaids) and Kimberly Alex (Telstars). The defensive efforts of Telstars experienced and senior players in Julieanne Diro, Raka Nope really motivated youngster Amanda Tau Mata to lift her game. Mermaids goal shooting combinations of Jeperth Tulapi and Rayleen Andrew was also outstanding and kept Telstars defenders in-check. It was a rivarly of young talents especially, the Under 21 players in both teams who really put out an outstanding performance to stamp their mark at the premier level. The latter saw both teams reshuffling key positions using their interchange players injecting fresh energy to boost their game to lock the third quarter score at 25-25. However, Telstars came out victorious in the final quarter – thanks to the efforts of goal defenders who retained possession of the ball with assistance from the midcourt to allow goal shooters to slot the much-needed points. Telstars head coach Veitu Diro was pleased with her girls’ performance. She said despite falling short at some stages of the game they managed to play together as a team and claim the win.last_img read more
